Tacoronte is a municipality of Tenerife , the largest of the Canary Islands off the coast of Africa. Tacoronte is located on the northern edge of the island. The town is mostly rural, with much of its land area taken up by farm land. Farming is a large part of the community and with the weather being so good in Tacoronte they are able to produce great wine, in particular the signature wine known as Tacoronte - Acentejo.There are small urban areas in the lower elevations of the town. Tacoronte is gradually moving to a business and tourism type of economy.
Through out Tenerife there are many festivities but the most famous one is Carnival. This takes place for a whole week. The festivities start in the morning and continue until the early hours of the following morning. The residences dress up in fancy costumes and there are parades that go down the streets. It is a really lovely sight to see the community pulling together to create such a spectacular week.
Although Tacoronte is still very much a rural town there is still plenty for you to see and do. There are various monuments and churches which all have interesting history to them. Whilst visiting Tacoronte you will never have a dull moment.
