Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Santa Cruz de Tenerife, shortly Santa Cruz is in the northeast of the island Tenerife. It is the capital and the largest town of Tenerife. Together with Las Palmas de Gran Canarias is it the capital of the Autonomia Islas Canarias.
Tenerife is known for the carnival celebration, it is supposed to be the second best (after that of Rio de Janeiro) in the world. So you can imagine that it is largely celebrated. The centre of the celebration on Tenerife is Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Near the city, about 9 kilometres, is the international airport. There is also an airport in the south 60 kilometres from Santa Cruz.
Santa Cruz is situated in a large bay and is therefore the perfect base for a trip to the stunning Anaga Mountains. A visit to the Tiede National Park, probably the most famous park of the island, is worth while with the Mount Teide .
But the town itself has enough to offer, museums, nice food, excellent shopping and much more.
After a hard day in the sun you might look for some time to relax, this is well possible in Santa Cruz. With its many restaurants, bars, clubs. There is something to suit all tastes, whether you want to have a more relaxing evening or a swinging night. Santa Cruz will not bore because it has so much to offer.
