Like the rest of Spain they love their fiestas. There are many through out the year however the most celebrated is Carnival. Carnival takes place in Feburary and is the most important festival in Tenerife. Santa Cruz de Tenerife being the capital of the island, it is no surprise that the biggest and wildest celebrations take place very close to San Andres. The Carnival is a week-long affair, drawing crowds out in a bewildering array of costumes, from the casual to the classy to the crazy! There is non-stop partying from morning to night and lots of food and drink for everyone. During Carnival week, there are various programs of entertainment that take place. It is a very big event and not one to be missed. You will cherish the memories for a very long time if not forever.
On a slightly quieter note if you wish to be entertained then you should go and pay a visit to the Auditorio de Tenerife. This is the work of the late Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. The auditorium features rooms that can cater to various types of performances and is the home of the Symphony Orchestra of Tenerife.
