Puerto de la Cruz is a city in the island of Tenerife. Tenerife is an island that is part of the Canary Islands. The Canary Islands are situated just off the north coast of Africa. Because of where it is situated Tenerife receives sunny weather through out the year. There are round 300 days of sunshine a year and the temperatures rarely drop below 16ºc. This is what makes Tenerife such a hit, especially with the European, as it is such a perfect place for you to escape those long cold winters.
Unlike the peninsular of Spain, the temperatures do not reach those soaring heights. Many of the Spanish come to Tenerife in the summer to enjoy the moderate temperatures.
