Las galletas food and drink

Las galletas, Tenerife - Food and drink

If there is one thing that Spaniards like it is their food and their festivals. Well, las Galletas manages to excel in both of these areas. Las Galletas is a small fishing town on the Island of Tenerife. Tenerife is part of the Canary Islands which are situated just off the north coast of Africa. In Las Galletas they catch many fish a day and as a tourist you are well advised to try out some of the local delicacies.  The Spanish are a very sociable group of people and they tend to spend a lot of time sitting outside drinking and eating tapas. This is possible because in Tenerife they are blessed with great weather all year round.

The temperatures rarely drop below 15ºc and in the summer they have hot but not unbearable temperatures. This makes it pleasant for you to be able to sit out and enjoy the sun whilst tasting the amazingly fresh fish that Las Galletas has to offer.
One of the times that you will notice the amount that the Spanish enjoy there food is during the festivities they have in February. In the first week in February there is a festival called carnival that the people of las Galletas enjoy celebrating. These celebrations last for a whole week and there is always plenty of food and drink around. The celebrations start in the morning and then continue to the early hours of the following morning. During this time the people of Las Galletas dress up in costumes and dance through out the day and night.
