Las Americas popular traditions
Visitors to Playa de Las Americas will be pleasantly surprised to take part personally in any of the many celebrations and holidays that the locals observe. The natives' Catholic heritage means that there is no shortage of yearly holidays and fiestas.
The biggest party of them all happens every year in February. This is when the Carnival time comes to town. This is a week-long non-stop party, filled with costumed revellers, street dancing, music performers, and, of course, food, food, and more food!

Truly, the yearly Carnival is one of the craziest celebrations to be found anywhere in the world. The parties start in the morning and continue until the early hours of the following morning. It is not a fiesta that you want to miss!
Following on the heels of the wild and wacky Carnival, the Lenten season comes in with all its solemnity and sombreness. The height of the season is Good Friday and Easter. Through out Lent, there are solemn activities and processions. However don’t be mislead, this tradition is also spectacular but in a different way.
With the weather being warm all year round it means that you can really enjoy these processions and are able to stand out and watch as many of them as you wish.
