La Laguna is no longer the political capital of Tenerife however, it does still hold much culture and history and it is therefore still widely thought of as the religious and cultural capital of Tenerife. With all of this culture La Laguna needed to have an outstanding capital and that is what it has. La Laguna's most notable theatre house is the Teatro Leal , along Obispo Rey Redondo street. It was constructed in 1915 by D. Antonio Leal, with plans drawn by the architect Antonio Pintor.
But if theatre is not your thing then there are many other things in La Laguna to keep you busy. There are many churches in this area. Each hold a different tale but all are equally interesting. These churches from different time periods and are built in different architectural styles. Visiting all of these makes an interesting day.
