Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands. It has a population of around 655 656 people. Icod de los vinos is a municipality of the island of Tenerife. The town is locate on the northern edge of the island and occupies a land area of about 95.90 square kilometres. Icod de Los Vinos, or simply Icod, for short, is known for its very fertile land, and the products thereof. Icod has a thriving industry devoted to bananas and wine.
There is plenty for you to do when visiting Icod de los Vinos. It has one of the most beautiful beaches in Tenerife, it is called Playa San Marcos. This beach has a pier and this helps to protect the sea from the nasty currents therefore making it a safe place.
It is very enjoyable to take a walk around the parks in Icods de los Vinos. The parque del Drago hosts a famous tree called the dragon tree. This tree grows very close to a butterfly garden which also is interesting to walk around. also in Icod de los Vinos is a cave called Cueva del Viento ( Cave of the Wind). This cave is said to be the largest volcanic cave in the world. Inside there is a complex of lava tubes with several outlets and several interesting geomorphological rock structures.
