Guimar parks

Guimar, Tenerife parks

The Guimar Pyramids Etnographic Park is Guimar's unique attraction, and among the most interesting and peculiar in the world. The park's namesake features are the six stepped pyramids which all remain a mystery to this day. They bear a similarity to the pyramids built by and Aztec and Maya peoples of Mexico, but all other aspects such as origin, age, or purpose remain unexplained.

The Chacona Museum is actually part of the Guimar Pyramids Ethnographic Park. It features very interesting historical exhibits. There are regular seminars and special documentary shows in the museum's auditorium. Some of the more interesting items on display are the scale models of papyrus boats and the Easter Island exhibits. The park's facilities play host to various activities, conferences, exhibitions, conventions, meetings, and events every year. It attracts many visitors because it is such a unique feature.

If archaeology is not your thing then there are plenty of other things that you can go and do and see in Guimar. There are the gorgeous beaches that you can spend time exploring. The beaches are renowned for having fine sand and clear blue sea. They make a very pleasurable walk and a great place to catch a few rays.  There are plenty of restaurants and cafes for you to sit down and enjoy the sun whilst having a refreshing drink.
