Tenerife is part of the Canary Islands that are situated just off the north coast of Africa. It is an island and therefore has plenty of beaches. The weather in Guimar is absolutely gorgeous all year round. The sun is shining around 300 days of the year. The climate is always warm even in the winter. The temperature rarely drops below 15ºc and in the summer it is usually a comfortable temperature, not normally going above 26ºc. There are many beaches in Tenerife however El Puertito in Guimar is particularly special. It is a small beach adjacent to the main fishing harbour. It is a calm beach with a few restaurants nearby. Guimar is a very popular tourist resort and therefore El Puertito receives many visitors every year.
