Adeje popular traditions
Adeje is a town situated on the island of Tenerife. Like any other Spanish town, Adeje has a yearly calendar of holidays and festivals. These activities are some of the main attractions of the town, drawing hundreds, even thousands, of visitors.

Like the other towns of Tenerife, Adeje 's chief holiday is the Carnival, which happens every year in February. This festival is for a duration of a week. It is simply a week of parades and dancing, people dress up in costumes and there is plenty of food and drink for everybody. The festivities usually start in the morning and go on until the early hours of the following days!
After the happy bustle of the Carnival, the Lenten season commences with its typical solemnity and piety. The height of the Lenten season is the Holy Week, which culminates in Good Friday. During this time, the residents of the town observe solemn processions, masses, and novenas.
These festivities a great way to see how the community of Adeje pull together, it is a really good way for you to get to know the local people. These festivities show just how much the Spanish like to party and how important their culture and traditions are to them.
