Adeje is a municipality on the southwestern edge of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands. It is a part of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Adeje is a fast-growing suburb with an estimated population of 27,640 (in 2003). Mount Teide is a prominent mountain in the area. As you can imagine there are many tourists to Adeje and becasu of this you will find plenty of things to do. or visitors with their families, embarking on any leisurely excursion in Adeje is a great way to spend quality time and discover together the many wonders that the Canary Islands hold.

Mount Teide makes a wonderful hiking and camping site. Alternatively, visitors may rent a car and drive up the trails on the slopes! There is also a gondola that rises all the way to the summit. Any which way, the experience is astounding. (To reach the very summit, one would need special permission from authorities). At the base of the upper cone, at an altitude of about 2000 meters, one can view remarkable flowering plants.
The Barranco del Infierno ( Hell's Gorge ) is a popular route. The walk takes about 3 hours to a destination about 5 kilometers away from Adeje . In the heat of the Tenerife sun, it's not hard to see why this route is called Barranco del Infierno . Along the path, walkers will see all sorts of interesting vegetation. The destination is a lovely waterfall situated in a secluded spot
